Angry Mob Sets Man Ablaze For Killing A Fellow Man In Ewu-Urhobo

ONE person was Thursday, reportedly killed at Ewu community, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State in a suspected reprisal attack.

 

It was however, learned that the deceased had murdered an indigene of the community, a development that caused pandemonium in the peaceful community.

Sources from Ewu reveals that the deceased had embarked on a forceful ‘Deve’ collection in the area and the refusal of his victim to comply with his demand made him to kill the victim simply identified as Mr Omote Enajokwho.

“After killing the man, he fled but he was traced to his hiding, brought out and killed by angry mobs in the community.

Another source alleged that the boy whose name could not be ascertained was collecting tax from the people in one of the street, he accosted the papa who was going to the farm.

“The man said he has no money and he became angry and club his victim to death.

“It is a law here that when a person is killed here, the killer must be killed and he was killed after he was traced to his hiding.

“He was brought to an open place where  the corpse of the man he had earlier killed was laid, before he was eventually set ablaze

 

Contacted, Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Mr. Bright Edafe confirmed the murder of the indigene.
